Rules and Regulations



EVENT CATEGORIES

1. Participants can sign up for the following Event categories:

  • Circuit Race – Master :  Male & Female 35 years old & above
  • Circuit Race – Open : Male & Female 16 years old & above
  • Ride with Legends: Male & Female 8 years old & above
  • Circuit Race – Team Time Trial : Male & Female 16 years old & above
  • Road Race – 70KM : Male & Female 16 years old & above
  • Fun Ride – Male & Female 8 years old & above

2. The age limit per age category will be based on the age of the Participant on the day of the event 2019.

3. If you are a Participant below 18 years of age, and have completed the wavier form online and submit the signed hard copy during event pack collection, you are deemed to have obtained consent from your parent or legal guardian to participate in the Event.

4. The following applies to Circuit Race – Master:

Participants, who must be thirty five (35) years of age and above, will ride for an approximate distance of 30km (6 laps).

5. The following applies to Circuit Race – Open:

Participants, who must be sixteen (16) years of age and above, will ride for an approximate distance of 30km (6 laps).

6. The following applies to Ride with Legends:

Participants, who must be eight (8) years of age and above, will ride for an approximate duration of one (1) hour thirty (30) minutes.

7. The following applies to Circuit Race – Team Time Trial:

  • Each team shall comprise of five (5) participants who are sixteen (16) years of age and above.
  • The team will ride an approximate distance of 25km (5 laps).
  • Teams must remain at as a minimum four (4) person team. All individuals will be removed from the course.
  • The final result of each team is calculated based on the time the fourth (4th) riders from the team crosses the finish line.

8. The following applies to Road Race – 70KM:

Participants, who must be sixteen (16) years of age and above, will ride for approximate distance of 70km

9. The following applies to Fun Ride:

Participants, who must be eight (8) years of age and above, will ride for an approximate duration of one (1) hour.

10. Participants who successfully complete the ride in their relevant Event category will be awarded:

  • A medal upon the presentation of their cycling bib to the respective officials on Event day.
  • A finisher e-certificate which will be downloadable within three (3) days of the completion of the event.
  • Participants in the Ride with Legend and Fun Ride will not have their time recorded.

EVENT RULES

1. Bicycle Restriction

The following cycles are not permitted in the Events:

  • Bikes with Disc Wheels/Rim Covers;*
  • Bikes with Aero or Extension Bars;*
  • Specialist Time Trial Bikes;*
  • Bikes with Child Seat (no pillion in any manner);
  • Motorised Bikes;
  • Unicycles;
  • Trailer Bikes;
  • Tandem bicycles;
  • Hand Cycles;
  • Trikes;
  • Scooters.

All bicycles must be properly fitted with operational front and rear brakes.

* The following cycles are permitted in the Circuit Race – Team Time Trial:

  • Bikes with Disc Wheels/Rim Covers;*
  • Bikes with Aero or Extension Bars;*
  • Specialist Time Trial Bikes;*

Participants who attend the Event with unapproved bicycles will be prohibited from participating in the Event.

2. All Participants must not:

  • Ride without an approved cycling helmet;
  • Ride without closed toe shoe;
  • Ride dangerously or negligently;
  • Wear any mobile music device while riding;
  • Use hand-held cameras or telephones while riding;
  • Ride with their pets

3. All Participants must display the following while riding

  • Race number stickers on the front of your helmet
  • Race number sticker attached to the seat post

4. All Participants must follow the designated routes and abide by the instructions given by the security, traffic management and Event officials throughout the Event.

CUT OFF TIME/POINT

Each event ride has an allocated time for completion. If Event officials believe that a rider will not finish the ride in the overall event duration then riders will be directed off the course.

1. Reach the Intersection before Lushen Road (along Yinggang Road) – approx. 10KM at 08:00
2. Reach Dianhu Road (along Yinggang Road) – approx. 20KM at 09:00
3. Reach Caoying Road (intersection with Dianhushan Avenue) – approx. 22.5KM at 09:45

AWARD

No prize money will be awarded to race winners; however top finishers will receive trophy as following:

  1. Circuit Race – Master
    • 1st/2nd/3rd for Male
    • 1st/2nd/3rd for Female
  2. Circuit Race – Open
    • 1st/2nd/3rd for Male
    • 1st/2nd/3rd for Female
  3. Ride with Legends – No award for this ride
  4. Circuit Race – Team Time Trial
    • 1st/2nd/3rd Team
  5. Road Race – 70KM
    • 1st/2nd/3rd for Male
    • 1st/2nd/3rd for Female
  6. Fun Ride – No prizes will be awarded for this ride.
  7. Overall Champion
    • 1 Male Champion
    • 1 Female Champion
    • Point System:
      • Points will be awarded in Ride 1, 2, 4 and 5.
      • Points are awarded based on results from 1st = 10 points through 10th = 1 point per ride. Only overall result is taken.
      • You must ride in a minimum of 2 rides to qualify for the award. For those who participated in more than 2 rides, the 2 best results will be taken.
      • TT results are calculated based on the overall team result. Ie, all riders in the team than finishes 2nd will be awarded 9 points each.

The following will be applied if there are less than 6 participants per award:

  • 2 or Less Participants – No award
  • 3 to 5 Participants – Only 1st will be awarded

Result for race 1, 2 and 5 will be based on Gun Time. Race 4 result will be based on Net Time.

SAFETY AND MEDICAL

1. All participants must certify they are healthy, physically fit and do not have any medical conditions that is not suitable to participate in the Event.

2. Participants are encouraged to consult their medical practitioners prior to registration and before participating in the Event.

3. For safety reasons, if Event officials decide that Participants are unlikely to complete their ride within the ride duration, Event officials will divert them to designated diversion points along the route. Participation medals will still be issued to such affected Participants

4. Participants must complete personal and emergency details during registration. Event bib are to be attached to their bike and helmet during the ride If there is an emergency, the Event Organiser and medical personnel will refer to the registration form to contact the next-of-kin identified.

4. If there is an emergency, medical personnel reserve the right:

  • to remove any Participants if they decide that he/she is unable to continue his/her ride; and
  • to send any casualties to the nearest recommended hospital.

5. All medical expenses outside of event coverage provided by the organiser will be borne by the participants. Event organiser will provide riders with basic coverage.

6. Participants who wish to utilize the insurance provided by the organiser will have to pay for their expenses first and submit the claim. Participants are encouraged to get their own insurance.
